The music ministry at Alberta Baptist Church provides an opportunity for personal worship and service to the Lord Jesus Christ.  The primary purpose for this ministry is to equip believers in Christ to worship the Lord freely at church, at home, and in daily living.  Every member at Alberta Baptist has the opportunity to serve the Lord in a vocal ensemble.  There are currently four ensembles available to our congregation and each of them contributes to our worship services.  Each ensemble also provides special events, concerts, and dramatic plays and musicals during appropriate seasons.

Alberta Baptist Church Choir

The Alberta Baptist Church Choir is our primary choral worship ensemble.  Currently, there are over 50 members in this group that leads our congregation in worship every Sunday.  Any person from high school age to senior adults may participate in the church choir.  This group rehearses every Wednesday night from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m., and sings at least one anthem every Sunday during morning worship.  The church choir sings a variety of literature including traditional and contemporary music.

Contemporary Praise

Contemporary Praise is an ensemble dedicated solely to worshipping through contemporary literature.  Currently, this ensemble includes over 20 members, and has grown substantially since its inception.  This ensemble assists the church choir in leading worship about once a month.  Contemporary Praise is also available to sing for special events and services at other local churches.  Rehearsals are every Sunday afternoon from 5:00 – 5:45 p.m..

Music and Missions (M&M’s) Children’s Choir

On Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m., the children at Alberta Baptist participate in a program called M&M’s.  Students of ages up to the 6th grade divide their time in learning about music and missions.  During music class, the children are taught some basic rudiments of music, and they learn both traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs.  One of their primary focuses is providing mission work through music.  They do this by visiting local area nursing homes and homebound seniors and singing their songs.  The M&M choir sings in our worship services several times throughout the year.

Music Makers

Our youngest members participate in another ensemble called the Music Makers.  This group consists of pre-school age children.  The Music Makers learn about Jesus and the Bible through songs and other activities.  They sing in our worship services several times a year, and give an annual Christmas pageant.  Music Makers meets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.
