PASTOR
Larry W. Corder
Pastor Larry W. Corder was born November 26, 1949 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He and his dear wife, Brenda, are now serving in the very church where they were raised and met, being married at Alberta on January 24, 1970. They have been blessed with two children. Lance and his wife, Laura, live in Niceville, Florida, and Lauren lives in Pensacola, Florida.
A graduate of the University of Alabama and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Pastor Larry has served for 25 years as senior pastor at churches in Mississippi, Florida, and Alabama. Prior to that he served for 15 years as a Minister of Music and Youth in churches in Alabama, Texas, and Georgia. In February of 2004 he left a very fruitful ministry of 17½ years at the dynamic Rocky Bayou Baptist Church in Niceville, Florida to accept the unanimous call to return to his home church as pastor.
Pastor Larry communicates God’s Word through an expository preaching and teaching style. His mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. He has a passion to lead the church to be God focused, Christ exalting, Spirit led and truth driven.
Cody Goss – Associate Pastor - Worship
Cody Goss, Minister of Worship and Associate Pastor, is serving in his second year at Alberta Baptist and his eighth year in church ministry. Cody graduated summa cumlaude with a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Jacksonville State University in 2001. He completed a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from The University of Alabama in 2003, and he is currently enrolled in the university’s Doctor of Musical Arts program. As a music educator, Cody has taught music at the elementary, intermediate, secondary, and post-secondary levels. He is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association, Music Educator’s National Conference, Alabama Music Educator’s Conference, Georgia Music Educator’s Conference, and the National Association of Church Musicians.
Cody accepted the call into ministry as a teenager and entered the ministry in the summer of 1998. He previously served as Minister of Music at Heflin Baptist Church ( Heflin, Alabama), Shiloh Baptist Church ( Ralph, Alabama ) and Blackwood Springs Baptist Church ( Calhoun, Georgia). He also served as Minister of Youth at Shiloh and Blackwood Springs. Cody received a License to the Gospel Ministry from Heflin Baptist Church in 2000.
Cody and his wife, DeDi, were married in July of 2001. They continue to look for opportunities to serve the Lord together.
