The Youth Ministry would love to hear feedback from our parents! Please follow the link below and fill out the form so we can work together to better serve our youth.
Our desire is to see teenagers come to faith in Jesus Christ, grow in that faith as His disciples, and go make more disciples by sharing their faith. We want them to realize that the church is bigger than the youth group and to understand their place in the body of Christ. Therefore, we aim to teach them to take ownership of their faith now in a way that will last throughout adulthood. To accomplish this, we offer times of youth worship, Bible study, small groups, and missions efforts to help teens Know God, Find Community, and Live On Mission.
O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
For Sunday morning small groups, all students meet together in the Youth House @ 9:30am. Lessons come from Orange's XP3 Students curriculum, which helps students learn how the Bible and the gospel are relevant in their daily lives by answering three major questions that every teen asks...
- Who is God?
- How can I know what is true?
- Can I make a difference?
Sunday nights at Alberta Baptist focus on our Life Groups, which we believe to be a vital part of community in our church body. So it follows that we would want our middle school and high school students to be involved in a Life Group as well.
For more information about getting involved in a life group, please call the church office and speak with one of our pastors or refer to the Life Group page of our website, so we can get you in the group that will be the best fit for you and your family.
Wednesday Youth Worship starts @ 6pm in the Youth House and consists of games as well as worship through music, prayer, and studying the Bible.
This spring we are studying the book of Colossians. Students will engage with God's Word by listening to teaching on a few verses and then have the opportunity to go deeper into understanding and applying what they have learned in discussion with other students and leaders.
After completing each of the four chapters of Colossians, we will have a night of worship through Scripture reading and song. This will give students a week to reflect on what they have been learning and praise God for it through song.
There are a number of events with ABC Youth throughout the year. Here is a list of all the large events for 2018!
This is a local event where we combine with other churches in Tuscaloosa for worship, discipleship, and service. And there is no shortage of games either! This a great event to invite friends to attend and to make new friends, too. Students will stay with adult leaders in homes of church members for the weekend. The cost for this event is $25 and includes food for the weekend and a t-shirt!
Every spring we host a banquet to celebrate the graduation of our high school seniors at Alberta Baptist Church. This year's banquet will be on Saturday, April 29 at 6:00pm. Graduates and their families will be served by the rest of the youth group and will also be given the opportunity to share a few words if they wish. The evening will conclude with ABC pastors praying over each graduate as they begin a new chapter in life.

This summer our students will be going to Mississippi College for MissionFuge. This trip will be an amazing opportunity for students to grow in their faith, make new friends, and serve others all in a summer camp environment. The cost per student is $350 for the week, so scholarships are always appreciated!
On Wednesday, July 4th our student ministry will gather at the home of Randy and Lisa Smalley for a pool party, complete with food and maybe even some fireworks!
If you love rollercoasters, rides, and overpriced park food, be sure to mark Monday, July 16 on your calendars, and get ready for a fun, full day at Six Flags Over Georgia! The cost for this trip is $40 plus any food students desire to purchase (students can also pack food to put in a large cooler).
Nobody really likes going back to school after the summer, but there is something that can make it a little easier... having a day at the lake the Saturday before! Ethan and Kara Blankenship have graciously agreed to host us for an awesome day with water, food, and maybe even some homemade ice cream!
On the Monday night of fall break for Tuscaloosa city and county schools ABC Student Ministry will be throwing down and flying high at the local trampoline park. We're renting out the whole place for 2 hours (9pm-11pm)! The cost is $25 and includes your required jumping socks!
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving we'll be heading over to Holidays on the River where we'll have some fun watching each other fall down. And the cost is just $15! Bring some extra cash for hot chocolate or coffee, too!
For years the debate raged as to whether this event was a fall retreat or a winter retreat. So in 2015 the debate was put to rest when one of our own suggested it just be called the "Finter" Retreat. This will be the 4th annual "Finter." In 2017 we started hosting it at the local campground, Camp Tuscoba. Girls and guys will stay in different bunkhouses for the weekend and enjoy worship, a guest speaker, small group time, camp fires, and the legendary sock war! Students' $10 and a drink/snack to share covers their weekend and t-shirt!
Dirty Santa, lots of food, games, and an all around awesome time! Our location is still TBD, but the fun is certain. All students will need for this event is a $10 or under gift to play Dirty Santa!
